Rhythms

In music, rhythm is based on rests. But how to translate the rest in visual arts? I've explored the Japanese concept of MA, meaningful emptiness. These "photographic calligraphies" express rhythm in nature: a continuity between the vegetal and the mineral, a movement touching the tree and crossing the stone.
